John Traveler

Hi.

I met a guy named John. He describes himself as a traveler and frowns when called a tourist.

He indeed isn’t a typical tourist that skims the surface of your city looking for adventure and looks at monuments and takes pictures… No. 

John spends most of his time hanging with low life locals in bars trying to capture the transient spirit of a nation. 

He loves damaged people more than squeaky clean ones with perfect lives. Ones with stories and scars that make you question humanity in general. 

But most of all, he loves finding out what makes people tick.

It is like seeing an old statue of greek god in a museum. You look at it and imagine how it looked when it was first made. It was white. When sun touched it, it shone so bright you had to look away. 

Now, it’s colour is greyish beige. 

But, more interesting than anything else are small cracks on the surface. You look at them and stare at these cracks, some older than most nations and wonder: What stories could this statue tell if it had tongue.

John loves people with cracks and he loves hearing their stories, just as he did mine.
